Grandma Tennis' Gingersnaps
(Written in pencil by Grandma on an envelope.)

3/4 Cup Shortning
1 C C&H Brown Sugar
1 egg un beaten
1/4 cup molasses
2 cups flour
1/2 Teaspoon Salt
2 teaspoons Soda
1 teaspoon each
ginger cinnamon & cloves

Combine shorten sugar& eggs in mixing bowl. Beat Well Sift dry Ingredients together and add Mix well. chill dough thoroughley shape into 1" balls and roll in granulated Sugar place 2" apart on greased sheet Bake at 350^ for 12 minutes.

Grandma Tennis' Pie Crust

Pie Crust

2 cups Sifted flour
1 tsp salt
2/3 c Crisco
1/4 c water

Sift flour and salt into a bowl. Put 1/3 c of this flour into a small bowl and mix in the water to form a paste. Cut Crisco with knives, forks, or pastry blender into the remaining 12/3 cups of flour until the pieces are the size of small peas. Add flour-paste to Crisco-flour mixture. Mix thoroughly until the dough comes together and can be shaped into a ball. Divide in half- roll out both crusts about 1/8 inch thick.
One Crust Measurements for an 8" pie:
Use 1 1/2 cuups flour and blend with 1/2 tsp salt, 1/2 c Crisco. Take out 1/4 cup flour and blend with 3tbsps of water
